Manish Pun
Age: 13 Years
Date of Admission: 2012


Manish and Suman's Story: Brothers from Pokara in the Kaski District, both of their parents have passed away.  
Manish Today: Manish is in 5th grade at Shree Bachhauli Secondary School.  He enjoys reading, playing by the riverside, eating yummy food, and playing cricket. Manish wants to attended a university in America and become a Doctor. 

Suman Pun
Age: 9
Date of Admission: 2012

Suman Today: Suman is in 3rd grade at Shree Bachhauli Secondary School. He enjoys swimming and watching TV. You can ask him about his "Ninja Techniques." Suman wants to be an engineer. 

Sita BK
Age: 11 Years
 Date of Admission: 2010


Sita’s story: Sita is from the nothern part of Nepal. She is a native of Dagnam, a remote village in a hilly region. Her father has recently died after a long battle with cancer.  Sita’s house was burned in a fire, her family lost everything and was forced to relocate. Sita’s mother has not been able to look after her because of their poor condition.

Sita today: Sita is now in 3rd grade at Shree Bachhauli Secondary School. She enjoys studying, playing volleyball, dancing, and singing. She wants to become a teacher.



 Sanjaya BK

Age: 6
Date of admission: 2013
Sanjaya's Story: Sanjaya comes from the northern part of Nepal the Myagdi District, Dagnam village. He is Sita's younger brother and thus shares the same story as his older sister.
Sanjaya today: Sanjaya will start in grade 1 at the Shree Bacchyauli Higher Secondary School in May 2013. He wants to become a boss (in business terms a CEO) when he grows up and he likes swimming a lot.


Sabin Taming
Age: 9
Date of Admission: 2012

Sabin's Story:  Sabin is a local from the Chitwan region.  His father was killed during the Maoist Insurgency.
Sabin Today: Sabin is in 3rd grade at Shree Bachhauli Secondary School. He enjoys swimming in the river, as well as playing cricket and volleyball. Sabin wants to be in the Army.  

Darshan Karki
Age: 9 years
Date of Admission: 2010


Darshan’s story: Darshan is a native of Jair VDC Humla, which is located in a far western region of Nepal. Humla is one of the poorest districts of Nepal, and development there is very slow.  People residing there are deprived of basic needs such as food, education, healthcare, transportation, and communication. Every year, Humlese face starvation. His father was a farmer who died in a forest fire. Darshan’s mother remarried,   and, her new husband does not permit Darshan to live in their home.

Darshan today: Darshan is in 3rd grade at Shree Bachhauli Secondary School . He enjoys reading, playing football and making new friends. He wants to join the army and become an engineer.

Saradsing Bhandari
Age: 11 years
Date of Admission: 2010

Saradsing's Story:  From the Humla District, Saradsing's parents live in a very remote and poor area of Nepal that has no roads, schools or basic facilities.  His parents sent him here to to enable him to receive a proper education.
Saradsing today: Saradsing is currently in 3rd grade at  Shree Bachhauli Secondary School. He is a very charismatic and creative child.  He enjoys drawing, painting, reading and writing stories.  He wants to become a doctor.


Safalta Karki
Age: 7 years
Date of Admission: 2009

Safalta’s story: Safalta is native of Jair Village Humlam, which is located in a far western region of Nepal. Humla is one of the poorest districts of Nepal. Safalta’s mother died during her birth. Her father works in a village health post, and he has remarried.  Safalta was working on a farm within her village and staying with her relatives, but she was not getting proper care and schooling.

Safalta today: Safalta is currently in 1st grade at Shree Bachhauli Secondary School. She enjoys dancing and swimming. She is a happy girl who always seems to have a smile on her face, and she wants to become a nurse.

Tej Bahadur Karki
Age: 8 years
Date of Admission: 2010

Tej’s story: Tej Bahadur is native of Jair Village Humla, which is located in a far western region of Nepal. Humla is one of the poorest districts of Nepal.

Tej today: Tej is currently in 2nd grade at Shree Bachhauli Secondary School.  He enjoys swimming and playing cricket.  He is a silly boy who likes to make people laugh. He wants to join the Army.

Usha Rawat
Age:  9 years
Admitted to CWPC: 2010

Usha’s story: Usha is a native of Jair VDC Humla, which is located in a far western region of Nepal. Humla is one of the poorest districts of Nepal. Usha comes from a family of seven in which she is the third oldest child. Her parents are poor farmers, and they are not able to take care of Usha and the other children.

Usha today: Usha is currently in 3rd grade at  Village Public Boarding School. She enjoys singing and dancing. She wants to become a teacher.

Dipesh (Babu)
Age: 4


"Babu" mean baby in Naepali.  He is the youngest and all the children consider him their little brother.  Babu's mother, Niru also lives at the center and cares for the children.  They came to live here in 2010.
